"The History of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation"

In addition to being nationally recognized as a Pediatric Cardiologist,
Dr. Chameides has been
a leader in setting standards for CPR for the American Heart Association.
He was Chair of the committee that developed the Pediatric Advanced Life
Support course (PALS), initiated the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP),
was one of the editors of the 2005 Guidelines, and developed a First Aid
course for industry. The Pediatric courses have become standard in the
US and have been translated into many languages.

Exhibit
"200 Years of Medicine in Connecticut."
Medical History in Connecticut: The practitioners, the treatments,
the cures from cupping to cutting.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Civil War Medicine"
An extensive exhibit of Civil War medicine featuring:
The story of the Knight US Army Hospital in New Haven, 1863 with photographs
of the staff, the building and a bound set of the newspaper, Knight
Hospital Record which was produced at the hospital from 1864-65.
A surgical kit from Dr. Timothy Townsend who was part of the Knight Hospital.
Over 100 photo-card images of surgeons, wounded soldiers and some of the
people making up the Sanitary Commission. This Commission was made up
of citizens who raised money to support the needs of the soldiers and
to provide needed money for health care outside of the government.
In addition there are posters, medicine broadsides, and a wonderful display
of toy lead soldiers from several wars and show the ambulances used from
1812 to WWII.
