Course Desrciption:

This course, funded by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, is designed to provide health sciences librarians and public health workers with an introduction to and understanding of the health data.

 

   Objective:

  • Define data and other data elements.
  • Understand the nature of data in the publication process.
  • Explain health data importance, types and their collection methods.
  • Identify online resources of major public health data.
  • Use specific data retrieval tools to locate the needed information.

     Goals:

The goal of this course is to improve the ability of health sciences librarians to understand health data and effectively use data-retrieval tools to locate those data.
