Interlibrary Loan Borrowing Service
- Library materials not owned by the UCHC Library
may be requested by any UConn Health Center faculty,
staff or student (identified by a barcoded, UCHC I.D.)
by submitting an interlibrary loan request form.
- The request must be related to research, education
or clinical activity being pursued at UCHC.
- Interlibrary Loan request forms are available at
the Circulation Desk, the Information Desk, in the
Interlibrary Loan office or, use one
of the online forms. For assistance in using the
Electronic Request Forms, read these hints
.
- A separate request form must be completely filled
out, including the source of the citation, for each
item or article requested.
- Interlibrary Loans cost $10.00 per transaction for
UCHC faculty and staff. Books borrowed from any UConn
campus will not be charged. Requests must be PRE-PAID
or have departmental FRS coding. If FRS coding is
not available use the printed form available in the
library.
- Delivery of ILL material for UCHC students is provided
at no charge.
- We can attempt to borrow most types of library material
not owned by the UCHC library. Usually, reference
material or works subject to copyright restrictions
are not available on loan to us.
- It will take approximately 2+ working days to fill
a journal article request. Book requests will take
longer due to mail time.
- Patrons may submit up to five requests per day.
- The Interlibrary Loan Department is responsible
for all transactions--loans are from library to library.
We exercise the right to impose any restrictions we
deem necessary to honor the lending library's policies.
Loansome Doc
UCHC faculty, staff and students who have been searching
PubMed
may wish to use the document ordering system, Loansome
Doc. Before using the Loansome Doc system through
the UCHC Library, consult our
information and complete the registration form.
This is a fee-based service for all faculty, staff,
and students.
Document Delivery:
Due to high subscription costs and newly available
methods of providing journal articles, selected titles
will be provided, at no cost, through Document Delivery.
Selected
Document Delivery titles are also noted in Lyman,
the Library's online catalogue.
UCHC faculty, staff and students (identified by
a barcoded, UCHC I.D.) may request articles from
these selected titles. The Library will absorb the
costs associated with up to 5 requests per person,
per year, for each title.
A Document
Delivery form should be filled out for each
Document Delivery article requested.
