Palm

Operating System
Palm devices run the Palm operating system.

Syncing
You can sync a Palm with both a Windows and MAC computer by using Palm's Palm Desktop / HotSync software. The Palm Desktop software allows you to sync items such as your calendar, contacts, etc. between your PDA and your computer. You also have the capability of installing applications using this software. If you are using a MAC you will find that a Palm is easier to sync with a MAC. The Palm also gives you the ability to install certain applications using your MAC. This software is downloadable for either Windows or MAC from the Palm website.

UCHC School of Medicine
The University of Connecticut School of Medicine's official PDA requirement is for a Pocket PC device. This is due to the fact that the PDA patient encounter software (the Student Experience Log) will only run on Pocket PC devices. If you are a student in the School of Medicine you are strongly encouraged to purchase a Pocket PC so that you can run the Student Experience Log on your handheld device.
