Selective Projects

The students selective is part of phase 3 of the medical school curriculum completed in the fourth year. Students work with an advisor to develop and carry out a project of particular interest. Some students choose to create some sort of a multimedia portion of their project of which CEC staff is available to assist with. More information on Student Selectives may be found below.

Development Stations

There are four development workstations (two PC and two MAC) located in the CEC. Some of the development stations have a scanner attached to them for scanning documents as well as film/transparencies. All development machines have Adobe/Macromedia software on them for multimedia development such as web design, web animation, image creation/editing, and PDF creation/editing.

Scanning

The CEC has scanners available for document, image, and film scanning. The images and documents may also be edited on these development stations using image and document editing software. CEC staff is available to assist with scanning questions and help with use of the equipment. Scanning help documents are available next the scanners as well as online help can be found below.

Student Organizations

CEC staff is available to assist students with updating student organization content. Student organizations can be social, curricular, community, etc. in nature and need an advisor to oversee the organization. Student organization request forms can be found on the main Blackboard page under Help and Support or by downloading the request form below. If you'd like to create a website to supplement an educational organization you need to fill out a website request form and contact CEC staff. CEC staff can assist you with designing and publishing your webpage. Please note that websites are only allowed to be uploaded on site under CEC staff supervision.
