Syncing McAfee Endpoint Encryption v.5 Blue Background- Windows 7

Syncing McAfee Endpoint Encryption ensures that your Windows password and McAfee Endpoint Encryption password are in sync. If you find that the password you enter for Windows and McAfee Endpoint Encryption are different then you should sync McAfee Endpoint Encryption so the passwords are the same.

Note: You can only sync McAfee Endpoint Encryption while on the UCHC campus.
  1. Bring your laptop to the UCHC campus

    Note: You will not be able to sync MEE
    unless you are on the UCHC campus
  2. Make sure your laptop is plugged
    into the UCHC network with an
    Ethernet cable (not connected
    wirelessly.
  3. Turn on your laptop, login to
    McAfee Endpoint Encryption

    and let it boot into Windows
  4. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del
  5. Click Log Off
  1. Log on to Windows

    Note: This will ensure that your laptop
    is using your latest password
  1. Right click McAfee Endpoint Encryption icon


    Note: If you don't see the icon it may be
    hidden you can click on the "Show hidden icons"
    item in the notification area to show the
    McAfee Endpoint Encryption icon
  1. Select Show status
  1. Click the Synchronize button
  2. McAfee Endpoint Encryption will
    update your new password information
  3. When McAfee Endpoint Encryption reads
    "Applying cryption changes"
    you can move on to the next step
  4. Restart the laptop
  5. Login to McAfee Endpoint Encryption
    with your new password

    If McAfee Endpoint Encryption took your old
    password instead of the new one repeat
    the steps above to get McAfee Endpoint
    Encyption to sync.
