Encryption Login

When you first turn on your laptop you will be prompted to log in to McAfee Endpoint Encryption with your username and password. Please be aware that your McAfee Endpoint Encryption username and password is the same as your blackboard, domain (Windows), and email username and password. Anyone that is not an authorized UCHC McAfee Endpoint Encryption user will not be able to log in to your laptop.

  1. Enter your user name and password

    Note: Your user name and password
    is the same for Blackboard, domin login,
    email, and McAfee Endpoint Encryption.

  2. Your computer will boot up and
    automatically log in to Windows.

Login Problems

Unknown User Name Error
If you receive an "Unknown user name" error message when logging into McAfee Endpoint Encryption it means that the encryption installation on your laptop does not contain your user name.
  1. Contact IT staff
    Students: Contact CEC staff (860) 679-8870
    UCHC Employees: Contact IT Help Desk (860) 679-4400

  2. Have IT staff log in to McAfee Endpoint Encryption
  3. Sync McAfee Endpoint Encryption



Authentication Parameters Incorrect Error
If you receive an "Authentication Parameters Incorrect" error message when logging into McAfee Endpoint Encryption it means the password you entered is incorrect. This can happen if you changed your domain password and forgot to sync McAfee Endpoint Encryption. This will cause the domain password and McAfee Endpoint Encryption password to be out of sync.
Try the following options to correct the the problem:
  • Try your old password
    1. Log in to McAfee Endpoint Encryption with your old password
    2. Sync McAfee Endpoint Encryption

  • Change your password
    1. Have IT staff log in to McAfee Endpoint Encryption
    2. Plug your laptop into the network
    3. Change your Windows password
    4. Sync McAfee Endpoint Encryption
    5. Log in to McAfee Endpoint Encryption with your new password



Windows Logon Error
If you log in to McAfee Endpoint Encryption but your computer boots up and does not automatically log in to Windows then your McAfee Endpoint Encryption and Windows passwords are out of sync.
