CEC Classes
CEC Classrooms
The Computer Education Center includes three PC classrooms, two of which can be combined into one larger classroom, and an open study area where individuals can work on computing projects. Classrooms one and two are equipped with Smartboard technology and is available for use by anyone teaching a class in these classrooms. If you'd like to find out more about the Smartboard technology please scroll down this page to the Smartboard Technology section. Classroom one holds 20 workstations, classroom two holds 12, and classroom three holds 7. Classrooms two and three can be combined into one room to offer 19 workstations. These classrooms can be reserved through Lyman Maynard Stowe library staff for educational and technological purposes. Note: Class may only be scheduled to take place during library hours. When classes are not in session individuals may use the classroom computers. The CEC is open to all UConn Health Center personnel.Reserving a Classroom
All academic requests for CEC Classroom reservations will be given a higher priority over non-academic instructional needs. (In this case, academic refers to anything related to the SOM, SODM and Graduate Programs; Non-academic relates to all other activity.) Academic programs will be allowed to reserve classroom space for one year in advance, or the full academic year. Non-academic groups may reserve classroom space for a maximum of 6 months in advance of their class date. Please note that during periods of high demand in the academic year, we may need to limit reservations to one classroom, or restrict the number of days allowed to be reserved. The classrooms can be reserved through the Library's CEC staff for educational and technological purposes. Classes may be held only during staffed library hours. Please complete a classroom request form (below) and email it to Ben Smith or Nancy Mainelli. You will then receive a confirmation back that the room has been reserved for you. If you have any questions about reserving one of the classrooms please contact Ben Smith or Nancy Mainelli:Phone: 679-8870

Cancellation Policy
Please provide as much advanced notice as possible, if you are unable to use your room reservation. We ask that as a minimum we are notified one business day in advance, in the event of a cancellation. Please be aware that non-compliance with our cancellation policy may result in amended library reservation privileges for your group. It is our goal to make our limited classroom space available to as many patrons as possible, while adhering to the Library's mission. We thank you in advance for your continued compliance with Library policies. If you have any questions, please contact the CEC at (860) 679-8870.Smartboard Technology
CEC Classrooms one and two are equipped with Smart Board technology. The easy-to-use Walk-and-Talk Presentation Series allows you to walk around the classroom while controlling your presentation and whiteboard activities through an intuitive remote control. The remote control allows you to project, write with projected ink, erase, save, print, and access the Web. You can also open, close, and interact with any application projected from the computer screen onto the Smart Board. This frees you from having to constantly run back and forth between the computer and the whiteboard; it can all be done at the board! Anything displayed or written on the board can be saved as a PDF file, printed out, or emailed. If you'd like to find out more about the Smartboard and would like to learn how to use it, please contact Ben Smith or Nancy Mainelli in the Computer Education Center at X8870, bensmith@uchc.edu, mainelli@uchc.edu, or view the Smartboard help files below. *Please note that in order to view the interactive Smartboard help file you need to have the Flash Player plug-in installed in your browser.
